You've heard of Martin Scout Ranch, but you've never experienced it like this! Join us for a weekend of camping skills for older scouts. We will learn together early in the weekend and then challenge the adults to a little friendly competition later on. Together we will explore some of these topics (exact details are a surprise): first aid, fire building, safe use of a hatchet, navigation and knots. Also, use your creativity to explore the many uses of this year's Camp Mystery Object.
Date: May 29-31, 2026
Location: Martin Scout Ranch, Pilot Rock, OR
Scout levels: 5th grade Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors, Adults
Cost: $15 per person
Registration Deadline: May 15, 2026

This is a troop event. Troops are responsible for adult/scout ratios. Buddy camping (troops "buddying up" with another troop to maintain ratios and training requirements) is available. Individual scouts with a registered, background checked adult are welcome if your troop is not attending. Troops will be responsible for their own food and camping equipment.

We want everyone to experience the beauty and opportunities at Martin Scout Ranch. Registered leaders that may be hesitant to bring scouts, but wishing to learn new camping skills or to experience the ranch are welcome. (Of course, we prefer you bring your older scouts - we can pair you up with a buddy troop if you prefer.)

Martin Scout Ranch is a primitive camp site. Potable water and porta potties are available on site. All adults should be registered with Girl Scouts and have a current background check. Outdoor Advanced and Wilderness First Aid Training are required to fully utilize Martin Scout Ranch. So that more scouts can attend, we will have volunteers with these trainings at camp, but troop supervision should include adults with Outdoor Basic and First Aid training. (Again, buddy camping can help meet these requirements.)
