Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, which is Girl-led, hands-on, and cooperative learning. Our GoGetter program provides the necessary means for girls in traditionally underrepresented areas to access these experiences by eliminating barriers and navigating obstacles such as cost, facilities, and transportation. We believe that every girl, everywhere, should have the opportunity to be a Girl Scout.
Girls participate in troops led by Council staff, GSEWNI Volunteers, or staff at partner sites. GoGetters meets after school at schools and in community centers. It provides a year-long curriculum that includes meeting plans, badges, supplies, instructions, and transportation (as needed).
Girls in the GoGetter Program are Girl Scouts. They do all the traditional Girl Scout activities with the same goal: to make the world a better place. The only difference is the funding mechanism. Through our many supporters and funders, we are able to bring Girl Scouts to a population that may otherwise not have the means to participate.
