Let's celebrate the end of the summer with a star party on the western side of our great council! We'll learn about the Girl Scout Space Science badges, Moon phases, and the scale of the Solar System. We'll make and learn to use Star Finders, and then use them to find constellations in the night sky! You'll also receive information about our Council's Astronomy Clubs.
Items to Bring:
Face masks, flashlights, lawn chairs and/or a blanket, binoculars (if you have them), drinking water, snacks, warm clothes (hat, sweatshirt, windbreaker jacket, long pants) for cooler temperatures as the Sun sets. Closed-toe shoes are required at this venue.
Notes:
This is a "Wind Farm" which means that the wind blows – a lot! After the Sun sets, the temperature can drop dramatically with even a slight breeze. Please be prepared for the potential of warm weather on your drive to the Wind Farm, and cooler weather after you arrive.
NOT a Drop-Off Event; Girl Scouts must have appropriate chaperon(s).
