Summer 2009 Urban Day Camps

Enjoy a variety of activities in a Day Camp setting. Campers will do hands-on activities following a week’s theme.  Open to all school age girls (5yrs to 17yrs). Girls will have opportunities to earn badges and patches all summer long. Non Girl Scouts are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Who: All girls ages 5 - 17
Place:  Girl Scout Program Center 1404 N. Ash, Spokane, WA. 
Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Fees: $80/Session. Breakfast and Lunch provided (with the exception of the weeks of August 17 and 24). 
$10 for extended morning hours (7:30 - 9 a.m.).
$10 for extended afternoon hours (4 - 5:30 p.m.)
$10 one time fee for Non Girl Scout registered girls

Program Descriptions

  • June 22 – 26, 2009 “Best of the Best”    
    It’s time celebrate all the things that make summer great! This week includes a daytrip (6/25/09) to visit Camp 4 Echoes where you will experience all the fun of attending camp: playing games, songs and making crafts. You will also be able to go on a hike, check out Camp 4 Echoes cabins, and participate in the same fun activities you would at camp!
  • June 29 – July 2, 2009 “Designing Women”  
    Create arts and crafts projects that may include collage, drawing, bead work, working with clay, jewelry making and scrapbooking.  We will be closed July 3, 2009.
  • July 6 – 10, 2009 “Sizzle, Sizzle, Pop!”      
    Join us for a fun-filled week of hands-on, messy, noisy, science experiments!  This week also includes a daytrip (7/9/09) to Camp 4 Echoes on Lake CDA where you will also take a hike through the wilderness, check out the cabins, and participate in the same fun activities you would at camp!
  • July 13 – 17, 2009 “Uniquely Me!
    There are many ways to stay fit and be healthy, here you will discover and develop the skills necessary to face life's little challenges. This is a terrific opportunity to explore personal safety, martial arts, health, fitness, and enhancing your personal beauty!
  • July 20 – 24, 2009 “Dog Days of Summer”   
    Do you love animals? We will explore the wonders of nature, and meet and spend time with all sorts of interesting creatures!
  • July 27 – 31, 2009 “Best of the Best”                                                                   
    Let’s celebrate all the things that make summer great. You’ll have all the fun of camp – games, songs and crafts.  This week includes a daytrip (7/30/09) to visit Camp 4 Echoes!  Go on a hike, check out the cabins, and try some of the activities you might do on a typical day at camp!
  • August 3 – 7, 2009 “Roadmap to Civic Engagement”               
    This is your opportunity to learn how you can become actively involved in our community! Girls will learn the importance of being a part of their local community, and identify and enhance opportunities and responsibilities that we all have to give back to our communities when and wherever we can!
  • August 10 – 14, 2009 “Around the World in 5 Days”                                                       
    Come celebrate the unique cultures from around the world! Try new food, learn new games, songs, crafts and more! This week includes a daytrip (8/13/09) to visit Camp 4 Echoes where you will also take a hike through the wilderness, check out  the cabins, and participate in the same fun activities you would at camp!
  • August 17 – 21, 2009 “Drama Queens”                                                             
    Join your fellow Drama Queens as we all explore our creative sides!  This fun opportunity combines a week of song, dance, playing games, exploration of the fine arts, music and theater!
  • August 24 – 28, 2009 “You’re the Chef”                                                                                    
    Create dazzling desserts, scrumptious snacks and mouthwatering meals, indoors and out. You will even learn to cook with a solar or box oven!
