Welcome to our council patch resource section.  Listed below are patches
unique to our council.  These are earned by clicking the link for each patch and completing the steps required for that patch.  The patches listed here are
available for purchase in our council retail stores.  If you have questions

A Susie Forest – A Patch Program
This patch program has been developed in honor of Susie Stephens.  Susie
was born in April of 1965.  Susie was a Girl Scout in our Council.  She
participated in many activities including a trip to Japan with her troop.  Her experience in Girl Scouting led her down many interesting paths in life.  Susie’s life was cut short in March of 2002 when she was killed crossing a street in a crosswalk. T.N.T. and Fireworks: Blow ‘em Up Good Junior Badge
This patch program was developed by Junior Girl Scout Troop 546 of Spokane. Completing the requirements for this patch will help girls learn the history of fireworks, how they are made, and how to handle them safely. Click here for

Outdoor Experience Patch

The Outdoor Experience Patch offers the Advisor and girls an up-to-date camping program. Girls will have the opportunity to learn the basic skills needed for first-time outdoor exploring and continue in a progression sequence, which will enable them to become completely “at home” in a primitive camp setting. Zink the Zebra Patch

Need a little love and understanding? Zink the Zebra can help. This program provides your troop with the opportunity to take a look at the importance of understanding, respect, compassion and acceptance of themselves and their peers. With diversity all around us it can be important to help each other appreciate those differences and Zink can show you the way with fun games and activities. With a full activity guide and the choice to purchase Zink the Zebra's, earn the patch and spread the friendly message of acceptance.

Princess Zip

Fit for a Princess is a patch program for Junior Girl Scouts. The program focuses on these messages-eat smart and be physically active-and uses reader's theatre as the message vehicle. The program consists of an activity booklet for each girl that contains the reader's theatre script, tiara, cooking, physical education and communication activities, Princess Zip patch, Group Leader's Guide and Family Letter.

The Penny Project - Financial Literacy Curriculum

The Penny Project is Girl Scouts' financial literacy curriculum for Girl Scout Brownies, ages 6-8, which uses an interactive educational approach to help girls gain an understanding of money and the responsibility that goes with it. Funded by Mutual of America, The Penny Project kit includes an activity booklet, adult guide, game board, game cards and a poster

Discover the World Patch

The Discover the World Patch is focused on intercultural exploration and budget travel. To complete the patch, girls chose between activities ranging from trip planning and interviewing international travelers to participating in local volunteer projects. The patch helps girls become more engaged and caring citizens.

Follow the Reader - Literacy Curriculum

Follow the Reader: A Girl Scout Family Reading Project consists of three booklets developed for Girl Scout Daisy, Brownie and Junior and their families. These booklets meet the important need for bilingual Girl Scout materials to focus on a family's involvement in teaching their children to read. This series of Spanish and English resources also offers families the opportunity to read together in the language in which they feel most comfortable.

CentsAbility - A Financial Literacy Curriculum

The CentsAbility curriculum enables girls ages 8 to 14 to take charge of their financial futures by developing important skills early, including personal money management, investing, and entrepreneurship. As they explore the relationship between lifestyle and occupational choices and imagine themselves as adults, they learn the all-important balancing act between income and expenses as they create and balance their budgets.

In the Zone: Living Drug Free

These Girl Scout booklets, funded in part by the Office of National Drug Control Policy, encourage girls to find their "zone" by living a positive, healthy, and drug-free life. In addition to the four booklets, the series comes with an adult guide that provides advisors and parents with the tools they need to help keep their child drug-free.

Get with the Land

Linking Girls to the Land (LGTTL) is an interagency partnership between Girl Scouts of the USA's Elliott Wildlife Values Project and federal natural resource agencies. This partnership works toward giving every girl an opportunity to participate in conservation and outdoor programs. LGTTL encourages partnerships between Girl Scouts and federal natural resource agency representatives on local and national levels to offer more joint conservation and outdoor projects to 2.8 million girls across the country.

The White House Project - Ms. President Patch

Do you want to see a woman in the White House one day? The White House Project, an organization that is changing the way people think about women in leadership roles, worked with Girl Scouts of the USA to develop the Ms. President Patch. Take time to celebrate those women who have paved the way in social and political reform, as well as to learn about those who are on the frontlines of government today.

Asthma Awareness Patch

Learning about the respiratory system and how we breathe is the basis of the Asthma Awareness Program: Helping Girls Breathe Easier. Girls will develop knowledge of asthma triggers, making healthy choices such as avoiding cigarette smoke and eating healthy foods, and practicing relaxation techniques. By completing activities and earning the patch, girls can help create asthma awareness by reaching out to their community. Empowering girls to take charge of their health can lead to increased self-esteem and responsible decision-making.

Water Drop Patch Program

The Water Drop Patch Program inspires Girl Scouts to learn about water quality and to take action in their communities to protect and restore local water resources, including their local rivers, lakes, streams, wetlands and ground water. The project supports the Gril Scout Leadership Development Program by promoting the following goals for girls:
DISCOVER--Explore the natural world to learn about watersheds and water pollution
CONNECT--Use their skills and their knowledge to work with others to educate their communities about the need to protect the nation's valuable water resources
TAKE ACTION--Make a difference in their communitieis by becoming watershed and wetlands stewards

Win Win: How to get what you want

The activities for the patch included a number of simulations and discussions designed to teach girls negotiation tools and make them more comfortable asking for what they want. Negotiation skills are a key tool for women in today's world.
