ABOUT THE COACH: Tommy Williams has coached youth sports (AAU/YMCA basketball and SYSA/YMCA Football) for over 20 years. In 2016, he was named the YMCA Volunteer Coach of the Year. Coach Williams has six boys, whom are the reason he began his coaching career. He played college football for Eastern Washington University, as well the Canadian Football League for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for one year before breaking his ankle in the first game of the season. Tommy earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at EWU and later completed his master’s in Education (Athletic Administration) at WSU. Coach Williams is also the lead trainer for the Athletic Risk Management Certification Program, which assists coaches in becoming knowledgeable about the legal duties and liabilities of coaching youth sports.
