Spend your summer on the wooded shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene and come enjoy our NEW LODGE! Camp Four Echoes is our resident Girl Scout camp; we are in need of Camp Counselors, Cooks, Waterfront Staff, a Camp Nurse and many other staff members!

Men and women, 18 years and older, are encouraged to apply. All salaries include room and board and are based on an entire season. Salaries will be pro-rated for working a partial season. Internships are available.

Administration

Seasonal Camp Director: Salary $3,500. The seasonal Camp Director will be responsible for resident camp and its day-to-day seasonal operations, in partnership with the Outdoor Education Manager. This position includes some interviewing and hiring of seasonal camp staff, planning and conducting staff training, as well as in-service and weekly meetings, supervising and evaluating camp staff, and partnering with parents to ensure a positive camp experience for all girls. Camp Director will oversee all camp operations including health care, food service, waterfront, program and unit staff as well as maintaining camp records and completing multiple reports through the summer and at the end of the season. This position will start several weeks before camp begins on a part-time basis. Please contact Marcy Mastel, Outdoor Education Manager for a complete job description. Qualifications: At least three years successful experience in: camping, staff administration & supervision, group leadership, Girl Scout program, Girl Scout resident camp. 25 years or older required.

Assistant Camp Director: Salary $2,400. Assist Camp Director in camp preparation and staff training utilizing successful experiences in administration and leadership. Supervise unit staff. Be responsible for camp in absence of Camp Director. Qualifications: Experience in organized camping and outdoor program development, experience in staff supervision, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of Girl Scout Program. 21 years or older preferred.

Program Director/Tripping Coordinator: Salary: $2300. Assist Camp Director in camp preparation and staff training. Oversee unit activities and all camp programs. Assist campers and staff in preparing for trips and simple overnights. Coordinate weekly and trip transportation. Qualifications: Strong leadership skills with successful experiences in developing and implementing specialty outdoor programs and knowledge of Girl Scout Program. Outdoor activity certifications beneficial. 21 years or older preferred.

Kitchen

Head Cook: Salary $2100. Responsible for all aspects of food service including planning, purchasing, and preparation. Supervises other kitchen personnel. Qualifications: Experience in large quantity cooking, purchasing, and in food service staff supervision. 21 years or older preferred.

Kitchen Aide: Salary: $1100.00 Assist with meals, dishwashing, cleaning and filling food orders for cookouts and trips. 16 years or older.

Waterfront

Waterfront Specialist (Lifeguard): Salary: $1650. Assist Waterfront Director in guarding swimming and boating activities. Qualifications: Current Waterfront Lifeguard certification. Experience in canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and/or sailing a plus. 18 years or older.

Support

Business Manager: Salary: $2000. Operate the Trading Post (camp store) including: accurate inventories, receipting money, making sales to campers, staff, and parents during opening and closing days and preparing deposits. Oversee camp budget and kitchen orders. Run errands in town and help keep business part of camp running. Qualifications: Experience in bookkeeping, budget management, sales, and computers. Valid drivers license. 21 years or older preferred.

Unit Staff

Unit Counselor: Salary: $1250.00 - $1500. Working with a team of 2-3 other counselors, coordinate unit program activities and provide campers with a positive, fun learning experience. Maintain records and generate as needed. Qualifications: Experience supervising and working with children and Girl Scout Program knowledge desired. Ideal candidates are creative and eager to engage kids in exploring the outdoors while maintaining the highest sense of safety and good judgment. Desire to create lasting learning experience for campers while providing excellent role model for campers. Canoeing, sailing and/or windsurfing experience/certification beneficial. Camping experience helpful; 18 years or older preferred.

Unit Leader: Salary: $1650-$1750. This position does the same job as Unit Counselor while acting as a team leader in supervising and supporting other Unit Counselors. Qualifications: Experience supervising and working with children and adults. Girl Scout Program knowledge desired. Ideal candidates are creative and eager to engage kids in exploring the outdoors while maintaining the highest sense of safety and good judgment. Desire to create lasting learning experience for campers while providing excellent role model for campers. Canoeing, sailing and/or windsurfing experience/certification beneficial. Camping experience helpful; 21 years or older preferred.

Leadership Director (Counselor-in-Training Director): Salary: $1750.00 Implements Counselor-in-Training program. Qualifications: Experience supervising, mentoring and working with teens. Girl Scout Program knowledge desired. 21 years or older preferred
